Stepped jaw chucks can be added to 3- and 4-jaw lathe chucks as lathing and drilling jaws, stepped inward or outward. In addition to one-piece jaw sets, lathe chucks are also available with base jaws and jaw pads. Hardened jaw pads are screwed onto the base jaws and can be removed and rotated.
