Machine Frame

• The entire series features a very rigid construction with thick-walled column and large throat
• The drill head swivels ±45° to the left and right and its height is adjustable
• The drill table swivels 45° to either side and its height is adjustable via hand crank
• Crosswise arranged T-slots offer a wide variety of clamping possibilities
• The table’s swivel and rotation functions simplify alignment of workpieces and clamping devices
• The central coolant passage ensures smooth rotations even beyond 360°
• The drill press foot serves as coolant reservoir and also offers a large, precision-machined setup area with parallel clamping slots.

Spindle and quill

• 6 gear steps and a 2-step motor ensure a wide speed range with 12 speeds
• Electric components by Schneider guarantee trouble-free and safe operation of the entire electric installation
• The current speed is shown on a digital display on the machine control panel
• The 3-step feed gear is integrated in the drill head, runs in an oil bath for low maintenance and is easy to shift
• The conveniently placed push button at the capstan handle allows for quick and easy ON/Off switching of the automatic feed via electromagnetic coupling
• The quill stroke can be easily read at a large scale on the drill head, and the drill depth can be limited in the automatic feed via an integrated depth stop
• After reaching the desired drill depth, the feed will automatically shut off, and the quill will be returned to its zero position via spring force
• If the user selected the thread cutting function, this stop will also define the desired thread depth
• Upon reaching the set position, the machine will automatically reverse spindle rotation
• A powerful integrated coolant pump is part of the SSB series standard equipment
• The modern LED machine light is bright, long lasting, and provides optimum lighting for increased operator safety
• For quick tool changing, the SSB drill presses feature an ejection function within the quill that requires no tools
• Extensive standard equipment and operating tools complete the equipment package
