Machine Frame

• The entire series features a very rigid construction with thick-walled column and large throat
• The SSB 32 Xn drill head swivels ±45° to the left and right and its height is manually adjustable
• The drill table height can be manually adjusted via a rack-and-pinion gear drive and tilted 45° to either side
• Parallel arranged T-slots offer a wide variety of clamping possibilities
• The table’s swivel and rotation functions simplify the alignment of different workpiece shapes and clamping tools with the drill spindle
• The central coolant return is integrated in the drill table for even more convenience
• The drill press foot provides a large precision-machined setup area

Spindle head

• A 2-step motor and a precision-stepped spindle gear drive allow for a wide rpm range with high torque across the entire speed range
• High-quality electric components by Schneider ensure high reliability and safety in every-day workshop operations
• The current spindle speed is shown on a digital display on the machine control panel
• The 3-step feed gear is integrated in the drill head and runs in an oil bath for low maintenance
• The automatic quill feed features an electromagnetic clutch for smooth and comfortable shifting
• The entire quill stroke can be easily read at a large scale on the drill head, and the drill depth can be limited in the automatic feed via an integrated depth stop
• The feed automatically stops upon reaching the desired depth
• If the user selected the thread cutting function, this stop will also set the desired thread depth
• Upon reaching the set position, the machine will automatically reverse spindle rotation
• All models of the SSB drill press series come with a powerful coolant pump integrated in the machine foot
• The modern LED machine light is bright, long lasting, and provides optimum lighting for increased operator safety
• For quick tool changing, the SSB drill presses feature an ejection function within the quill that requires no tools
